What happened?

You clicked a link in an email that simulated an Outlook re‑authentication request. This exercise helps us understand how staff respond to phishing attempts and identify training needs.

Why this was suspicious
  • The message created urgency (24‑hour deadline).
  • The sender domain did not match our official IT notifications.
  • The button link went to an unfamiliar domain rather than to Microsoft or our corporate portal.

  • Verify sender addresses — official IT emails come from @eci-security.org or our managed service domains.
  • When in doubt, contact the IT/security team directly rather than clicking links.
